Alejandro Zenker took up photography at the age of 14, but it was not until 1998 that it became his main creative activity, specializing in nudes and portraits. His photographs have been published in the book entitled Masaje clásico terapéutico (Classic Therapeutic Massage), by Socorro Rocha, in the 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 editions of Agenda erótica femenina (the Erotic Feminine Diary), in the 2002 edition of the Agenda erótica masculina, (the Masculine Erotic Diary) and in the Quehacer Editorial magazine. In March 2001 he published Una mirada digital (A Digital View) that included photographs taken between 1999 and 2001, the first completely digital photographic work produced in Mexico (photography and digital printing).
As a result of the La escritura y el deseo, (Literature and desire) project, in which he portrays renowned authors and poets with a nude model, he has gone onto publish his photographs in the books of a number of authors, including: Batallas de amor perdidas (Battles of Love Lost), by Gustavo Sainz; La huella del grito (The Mark of the Cry), by Alberto Ruy Sanchez; Muñecas rotas (Broken Dolls), by Hernan Lara Zavala; Flor de un solo día (Flower for a Day), by Edmee Pardo; Despadrada (Fatherless), by Guillermo Samperio; Aprisionarte quisiera (Never Leave Me), by Rafael Ramírez Heredia; Te seguiré buscando (I’ll Keep Searching For You), by Josefina Estrada, and El último refugio, (The Final Refuge), by Mauricio Molina.
He is currently working on several new titles. His photographs are also published in the TrangresiónES magazine, of which he is the editor and that is run by Gustavo Sainz. He is the chief executive officer of Solar, Servicios Editoriales and Ediciones del Ermitaño, and director of Instituto del Libro y la Lectura (the Books and Reading Institute). He studied pedagogy in Germany and translation at El Colegio de México. He was founder and president of the Asociación de Traductores Profesionales (ATP) (Professional Translators Association) and member of the International Translators Federation Council, where he was the chairman of the Regional Centers Committee, also founding the Regional Center of North American Countries (Mexico, the United States and Canada).
